beguiling

"Once an honest conversation takes place between me and God, the misguided desire loses its intensity.

"There, there!" I say to it. "You've made your point.
I am alive in a beguiling world."

Beguile

transitive verb
1: to lead by deception
2: hoodwink
4: to deceive by wiles

Why does God disarm the allure of sin?
A sack-lunch picnic in the park with your best-est friend will always trump smoking cigarettes behind the abandoned house.
A glimpse of heaven evidently makes the best we can hope for here look filthy and foul.

Why do we, then, intentionally avoid such conversations with God when we know this will occur?
Yes, you there in the back of the room !

Because we suck?
By that I mean because we have a heart drawn to rebellion at every turn, don’t you think?

Because the God endorphins are like an apple
And Sin endorphins are like candy.

And so the moral of the morality is
“An apple a day keeps evil at bay”
