This Just In :: From Field Correspondent Vinnie Visconti

Challenge: Read only if you have time for God

V.V.  |  Wisconsin  |  03.25.2010
God, when I received the following e-mail, I thought... I don't have time for this... And, this is really inappropriate during work.

Then, I realized this kind of thinking is "exactly," what has caused a lot of the problems with our world today.

We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning...

Maybe, Sunday night...

And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.

We do like to have Him around during sickness....

And, of course, at funerals.

However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play? Because.. That's part of our lives we think we can, and should, handle on our own.
We must always have time to remember all HE has done for us.
Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'
Not ashamed?
Pass on the Good News -- "Yes, I do Love God! HE is my source of existence and Savior."
He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)
This is the simplest test. If You Love God... And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you... Then tell ten people how you got the message!

Now do you have the time to pass it on?

(Mr Visconti is single, while today lives and works in Wisconsin, but has lived in many places including Illinois, Texas, and Florida. He is currently contemplating making another extended visit to Foggia, Italy, where he has fifty-three cousins, aunts and uncles -- at last count.) ed. pd

Steadfast

God's Wings

After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage.

One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree.

Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings.

The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.

She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast....because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.

'He will cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you will find refuge.' (Psalm 91:4)

Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone Special.

To realize the value of a Friend...lose one.

Exonerate Yourself :: Did it Occur to anyone to Ask -- What's in a Name?

Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency? * 18356936 responses

Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.

No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.

Has it ever occurred to anyone to ask 'the reason' the symbolic name GOD is so picked on? Did I hear correctly in Sunday School that our Ancient of days Rabbis's made it impossible for anyone to use God the Creator Almighty's name in vain -- by conveniently not passing the name down to others ... it was therefore forgotten. GOD, or other abbreviated names, are pretty much acronyms.

Putting this motto on our various symbols of State is simply to remind us all that forces 'out there' are immensely, much, much greater than us 'down here' and are controlled by GOD out there, while our ability to print money, or to proliferate is about the height of our accomplishment here on the Earth ... I am humbled in that realization.

Get rid of the litigations by making it illegal to redesign, plagiarize or undo, our creeds and motto's.
